The Namograph was invented by Henry Lasko, sometime around 1918-1919.
According to records his patent was awarded in 1920.
The Namograph was used to engrave names or slogans into Pens and Pencils as well as many other items that could be fitted on the carrier.
You selected the appropriate letter from the wheel and pressed the lever down, this created an impression on the item.
When the lever was released the item moved along ready for the next letter.
You could place coloured foils on the item to enhance the lettering.
While many Pen collectors rue the day this was invented, it was certainly in great demand buy Pen and Pencil purchases who wanted there
